The short answer

  • Showit, Pixieset and Format price their website plans in US dollars only; Squarespace and Believe Websites show UK prices in pounds.
  • On 7 November 2026 Showit's website plan was $22 a month billed annually ($259 a year) or $27 monthly, and its plans with a WordPress blog were $27 and $39 a month billed annually.
  • On 7 November 2026 Pixieset's Website plans were free, $12 or $18 a month billed annually, and its Suite, which adds galleries, contracts, invoices and a booking site, started at $28 a month billed annually or $35 monthly.
  • On 7 November 2026 Squarespace's UK website plans started at £14.40 a month paid annually, including estimated VAT, and booking needs Acuity Scheduling on top, from £11 a month annually.
  • On 7 November 2026 Format's Pro plan was normally $17 a month billed annually or $24 monthly, with 60% off the first annual year until 2 December 2026.
  • Showit and Format's pricing pages list no appointment booking; Pixieset includes booking in its Suite and Squarespace sells it separately as Acuity.
  • Every DIY builder here expects the photographer to design and write the site; Believe Websites designs, builds and changes it for them.
  • Believe Websites builds a bespoke website with booking on the photographer's own domain for £0 upfront, from £49 a month, with 0% commission.
  • Believe Websites has no client galleries, contracts or proofing, its card payments and text reminders are built but not switched on, and it has a 12-month minimum term.

A wedding photographer's website does a different job from a salon's. Nobody books a wedding with two clicks. Couples find you, look through whole weddings you have shot, read what other couples said, check you are free on their date, and then ask for a call or a brochure. The site has to sell the work and turn a visitor into an enquiry. Galleries, contracts and retainers usually come after that, often in separate software.

So this guide is about the website. We compared four builders that wedding photographers actually use, Showit, Pixieset, Squarespace and Format, with Believe Websites. Wix was left out: on the day we checked, its plans page showed only US dollar prices "for reference", not the UK price a British photographer would pay.

We make Believe Websites, so read this with that in mind. Every competitor figure below was read from that company's own pricing page on 7 November 2026, and each page is listed at the bottom. If you mainly want studio software for bookings, contracts and invoices rather than a website, we covered that in the best booking platforms for photographers in 2026.

The short answer

  • You want total design freedom and love building it yourself: Showit.
  • You want website, client galleries, contracts and a booking site in one place: Pixieset Suite.
  • You want UK pricing, a big template library and booking as an add-on: Squarespace with Acuity.
  • You want the cheapest clean portfolio, and can grab a first-year deal: Format.
  • You do not want to build or write a website at all, and want one designed for you with booking for consultation calls: Believe Websites.

What each one costs

Showit

Showit is the builder a lot of wedding photographers move to when they want a site that looks nothing like a template. Its pricing page lists Showit at $22 a month billed annually ($259 a year) or $27 monthly, Showit and Basic Starter Blog at $27 annually ($326 a year) or $34 monthly, and Showit and Advanced Blog at $39 annually ($470 a year) or $49 monthly, with bigger blog plans at $63 and $119. Blogs run on WordPress, designed in Showit. There is a 14-day free trial, during which you cannot connect a domain, and Showit says you can cancel or change plan at any time. The pricing page lists no booking or payments.

Pixieset

Pixieset started with client galleries and now sells a website, a studio manager and a bundle of everything. Its Website plans are free, Plus at $12 a month billed annually or $15 monthly, and Pro at $18 or $24; your own domain needs a paid plan. The Pixieset Suite puts galleries, website, store and Studio Manager together: Starter $28 a month billed annually or $35 monthly, Pro $38 or $50, Ultimate $55 or $65. The Suite includes a booking and scheduling site, contracts with e-signatures and invoices; collecting a retainer during booking and booking reminders are listed on Pro. Prices are in US or Canadian dollars only, and you can cancel any time.

Squarespace

Squarespace shows UK prices in pounds including estimated VAT: Basic £14.40, Core £20.40, Plus £34.80 and Advanced £94.80 a month paid annually, or £19.20, £28.80, £43.20 and £106.80 paid monthly. Booking is not in those plans. It is Acuity Scheduling, sold separately at £11, £20 or £37 a month annually (£12, £22 or £40 monthly) for 1, 6 or 36 calendars, with text reminders from the £20 plan and deposits through Stripe, Square or PayPal on every plan. Card payments through Squarespace start at 2% + £0.25 on Basic and Core. There is a 14-day free trial. We compared it with us in detail in Believe Websites vs Squarespace.

Format

Format is a portfolio builder for photographers and artists. Its pricing page lists Basic at $10 a month billed annually or $14 monthly, Pro normally $17 billed annually or $24 monthly, and Pro Plus normally $26 or $36. Until 2 December 2026 a code takes 60% off the first year of an annual Pro ($9.35 a month) or Pro Plus ($14.30). Pro and Pro Plus add client galleries, contracts and a light CRM; a custom domain is free for the first year on those annual plans and $30 a year otherwise. There are no long-term contracts. The pricing page lists no appointment booking.

Believe Websites

We design and build a bespoke website on your own domain for £0 upfront, then it is from £49 a month, with 0% commission and unlimited team members if you shoot with a second shooter or an associate. Couples can book a consultation call on the site, and get email confirmations and reminders. Each month you get a report, analytics, an AI Search Readiness score and a new article about the area and venues you work in. We change the site whenever you ask. The rest of the offer is on our home page.

Squarespace and Acuity prices read from squarespace.com/pricing and squarespace.com/scheduling on 7 November 2026. Showit, Pixieset and Format are left off this chart because they price in US dollars only; their figures are in the table above.

On price alone, every DIY builder here is cheaper than us. Pixieset's Suite, at $28 a month billed annually, gets you a website, galleries, contracts and a booking site together. What you pay us for is not having to build it: the design, the words, the venue pages, the monthly article and every change after that. If you enjoy building your own site, or already have one couples love, keep it.

Where Believe Websites loses

So which one?

  • Showit if design freedom matters most and you will put in the hours to build it.
  • Pixieset Suite if you want galleries, contracts, retainers and the website in one login, and do not mind paying in dollars.
  • Squarespace with Acuity if you want UK pricing with VAT shown and are happy to join two products together.
  • Format if you want the cheapest clean portfolio with galleries, and can take the first-year deal before 2 December.
  • Believe Websites if you would rather spend your evenings editing weddings than building a website, and want it designed, written and kept up to date for you.
