The short answer

  • Wix's UK plans cost £9 a month on Light, £16 on Core, £25 on Business and £119 on Business Elite, and its pricing page says those prices are for yearly subscriptions paid in full at the time of purchase and do not include applicable taxes.
  • Wix's Light plan does not include its bookings tools; Core is the cheapest Wix plan that takes bookings, so a year of Core is £192 paid upfront, before tax.
  • Every paid Wix plan lets you connect your own domain and remove Wix branding, and includes a free domain for one year when you buy a new domain from Wix.
  • Wix Core, Business and Business Elite include staff seats, deposits for services, card payments and 50, 100 or 250 SMS and WhatsApp notifications a month.
  • With Wix you build and change the website yourself, using its templates, AI builder and drag-and-drop editor, or you hire someone to do it.
  • Believe Websites costs £49 a month flat for any team size, takes 0% commission, and designs, builds and changes a bespoke website on your own domain for you, for £0 upfront.
  • Wix is cheaper than Believe Websites on subscription alone: £192 for a year of Core against £588 for twelve months at £49.
  • Wix takes card payments and deposits and sends text notifications today. Believe Websites' text reminders and card payments are built but not switched on, it has no marketplace, and it has a 12-month minimum term.

Wix is the website builder most small businesses have heard of. You pick a template or describe your business to its AI builder, drag things around until it looks right, add Wix's bookings tools, connect a domain and publish. It is good software, and millions of people use it.

We do the same job from the other end: we design and build the website for you, put booking inside it, connect your domain, and make the changes when you message us. So this comparison is mostly about who does the work, and then about what you pay and what is included. Every Wix figure below was read from Wix's own pricing page, viewed from the UK in pounds, on 29 October 2026.

The short version

Wix's cheapest plan with bookings is Core, at £16 a month. That is the price of a year paid upfront, so it is £192 on the day, and Wix says its prices do not include applicable taxes. You build the site yourself.

Believe Websites is £49 a month flat, whatever the size of your team. We design and build the site for £0 upfront, on your own domain, and change it for you. We take 0% of every booking. Wix is cheaper on the subscription. What you are paying us for is not doing it yourself.

What Wix's pricing page actually says

Wix UK website plans, as shown on 29 October 2026

Wix says displayed prices are for yearly subscriptions paid in full at the time of purchase, that other subscription periods are available (their prices are not shown on the page), and that prices do not include applicable taxes. Wix also has a free plan at £0, and a 14-day money-back guarantee on paid plans.

BusinessWix's recommended plan£25Included100 a month10
Business Elite£119Included250 a month100

On Core and above, Wix's bookings platform includes unlimited services and classes, staff seats, personal calendar sync, memberships and packages, bookings analytics, card payments and deposits for services. Business adds resource management, such as rooms or equipment. The page does not publish Wix's card processing rates.

Every paid plan includes a custom domain and removes Wix branding, and includes a free domain for one year. Wix's FAQ says that voucher is only valid when you buy a new domain from Wix, and cannot be used to renew or extend a domain you already own. The page does not show what the domain costs from year two.

Wix figures read from wix.com/plans in pounds on 29 October 2026. They cover the subscription only: building the site on Wix is your own time, or a designer's fee if you hire one, and that is not included. Believe Websites' figure includes designing and building the site, hosting, the domain and changes.

On subscription alone, Wix wins clearly. The honest question is what the gap buys. With Wix, the evenings spent choosing a template, writing every page, sizing photos, setting up services and staff, and coming back to change prices are yours. With us, they are ours.

Who builds it, and who changes it

Wix's pricing page describes how it works in five steps: create your site from a prompt or a template, customise everything in the drag-and-drop editor, add business features such as scheduling, register or connect a domain, then start getting traffic with its marketing and SEO tools. Every step is something you do. Wix's page also points to a marketplace of professionals you can hire, at their own prices.

With us, you send us your photos, your services and your prices, or we take them from what is already online about you, and we design the site around your business. When something changes, a new price, new opening hours, a new member of the team, you message us and we do it. Unlimited small changes, fair use.

What the £49 pays for with us

  • A bespoke website, designed around your business: your photos, services, prices, reviews and area. Not a template you fill in yourself.
  • Your own domain, something like www.yourbusiness.co.uk, bought and connected for you.
  • Changes done for you. Message us; unlimited small changes, fair use.
  • Your booking system inside the site, for unlimited team members, with email confirmations and reminders.
  • Analytics, a monthly report and an AI Search Readiness score, so you can see what is in place and how the site is doing.
  • A new article every month about your town and your services, written to be read by search engines and AI assistants.
  • 0% commission on every booking, from anyone.

The whole offer is on our home page. After the 12-month minimum term it carries on month to month, and the website can become yours.

Being found on Google and by AI

Wix includes a marketing suite and SEO tools on every plan, and its comparison table lists an AI Visibility Overview on each one. Those are tools you run. Whether your site ends up with clear service pages, your area, your prices and your reviews on it depends on what you put in.

Every site we build is set up with structured data, a page for each service, clear business details and a monthly article, and your dashboard shows an AI Search Readiness score so you can see what is there.

Where Wix genuinely wins

  • It is cheaper. £16 a month on Core, billed yearly, against our £49.
  • Texts work today. Core includes 50 SMS and WhatsApp notifications a month, Business 100. Our confirmations and reminders go by email; text reminders are built but not switched on.
  • Card payments and deposits work today, from Core. Our card payments are built but not switched on, so we cannot take a deposit for you yet.
  • Total control. You can change anything, any time, without waiting for anyone, and there are thousands of templates and an app market.
  • It does far more than booking. An online shop, memberships, events, courses, and a free plan to try it on.
  • No 12-month minimum on the page. The prices shown are for a year paid upfront, but Wix offers a 14-day money-back guarantee and says other subscription periods are available. We have a 12-month minimum term because we build the site for £0 upfront.

Neither of us sends you clients from a marketplace of people browsing for somewhere to book: Wix's pricing page lists none, and we do not run one. If that is what you want, see how the marketplaces charge for it in Believe Websites vs Fresha and Believe Websites vs Booksy.
