The short answer
- Acuity Scheduling is an online booking scheduler owned by Squarespace; it is not a website, and its plans include embedding the scheduler in a website you already have.
- On 5 November 2026 Squarespace's UK scheduling page priced Acuity at £11 a month billed annually or £12 monthly for 1 bookable calendar, £20 or £22 for up to 6, and £37 or £40 for up to 36.
- On the same day acuityscheduling.com showed prices in US dollars only: $16, $27 and $55 a month billed annually, or $20, $34 and $69 billed monthly, excluding applicable taxes.
- Acuity's Starter plan sends email reminders; text message reminders start on its Standard plan.
- Acuity takes payments and deposits through Stripe, Square or PayPal, and its pricing page says there are no set-up or cancellation fees and that you can cancel at any time.
- Believe Websites builds a bespoke website with booking inside it on your own domain for £0 upfront, from £49 a month, with 0% commission and unlimited team members.
- Acuity is cheaper than Believe Websites for the booking alone, and it has text reminders, card payments, packages and gift certificates switched on today.
- Believe Websites' text reminders and card payments are built but not switched on, it has no marketplace, and it has a 12-month minimum term.
Acuity Scheduling is one of the best-known booking tools for small service businesses, and since Squarespace bought it, it is sold as Acuity Scheduling by Squarespace. It is a scheduler: a booking page and calendar that clients use to pick a time, which you link to or embed in your website. It does not come with a website of its own.
Believe Websites is the other way round. We design and build a bespoke website for your business with booking built into it, on your own domain, and we change it for you whenever you ask. So this comparison is really a question about the website: do you already have one you are happy with, or do you need one built?
We make Believe Websites, so read this with that in mind. Every Acuity figure below was read from Acuity's and Squarespace's own pages on 5 November 2026, and both pages are listed at the bottom.
The short answer
- You already have a website you like and just need online booking: Acuity is the cheaper, more complete booking tool today.
- You need text reminders, card deposits, packages or gift certificates right now: Acuity has them; ours are not all switched on yet.
- You have no website, or one you would rather not maintain, and want booking inside a proper site built for you: Believe Websites.
Two pages, two currencies
Acuity publishes its prices in two places, and on 5 November 2026 they did not match. Squarespace's scheduling page showed a UK visitor prices in pounds. acuityscheduling.com showed US dollars only, with the line "All prices are in USD. Prices do not include applicable taxes." The pound prices are not a straight conversion of the dollar ones, so a UK business should check which price it is being offered at checkout.
Pound prices from squarespace.com/scheduling, which did not say whether they include VAT. Dollar prices from acuityscheduling.com/pricing, which says they exclude applicable taxes. Calendars are bookable calendars: in practice, one per member of staff who takes bookings.

any number of staff; includes building and hosting the website
Acuity prices read from squarespace.com/scheduling on 5 November 2026. They are the booking tool only. You still need a website to embed it in, which you build yourself or pay someone to build. Acuity Starter, £11, covers one calendar with email reminders only.
On the booking alone, Acuity is cheaper at every team size up to 36 calendars. The gap is the website. If you already have one, Acuity is likely the better buy. If you do not, the honest comparison is Acuity plus whatever a website costs you, in money or in evenings. We priced one popular route, a Squarespace site with Acuity, in Believe Websites vs Squarespace.
Where Acuity wins
- It is cheaper for booking alone. £11 a month billed annually for one person, £20 for up to six.
- Text reminders today, from the Standard plan. Ours are built but not switched on yet; we send email confirmations and reminders only.
- Card payments and deposits today, through Stripe, Square or PayPal on every plan. Ours are built but not switched on yet.
- More booking features. Packages, memberships, gift certificates, a waitlist, custom intake forms, classes and group events, and Zoom, Google Meet and GoToMeeting links for online appointments.
- No minimum term. Its pricing page says you can cancel at any time, with no set-up or cancellation fees. We have a 12-month minimum term, then month to month.
- It works with any website, including one you have already paid for.
Where Believe Websites wins
- You get the website, not just the booking. We design and build a bespoke site on your own domain (www.yourbusiness.co.uk) for £0 upfront, host it, and change it whenever you ask.
- One price however big the team. Unlimited team members from £49 a month; Acuity moves up a plan at the 2nd and 7th calendar.
- 0% commission on every booking, from anyone.
- Things that help the site be found. Analytics, a monthly report, an AI Search Readiness score and a new article each month about your town and services.
- One thing to manage. The booking lives inside the site, so there is no second system to keep in step with a website someone else built.
Where we lose, plainly
So which one?
- Pick Acuity if you already have a website you are happy with, you want text reminders or deposits today, or you want to be able to cancel any month.
- Pick Believe Websites if you need the website itself, want it built and kept up to date for you, and want one flat price however many people take bookings.
