Believe Websites is operated by BelieveX Ltd (company number 13225381, registered in England and Wales, registered office [address to be added]). This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use believewebsites.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

What we collect

When you fill in our questionnaire, we collect:

  • Your business details — name, description, address, opening hours, services and pricing.
  • Your contact details — phone number, email address, WhatsApp number, and social media links you choose to give us.
  • Any photos, logos or other files you upload.
  • Your responses to questions we tailor based on your business type.

If you become a customer, we also collect:

  • Payment details, handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe — we never see or store your card details ourselves.
  • Messages you send us when asking for changes to your website.
  • Basic, first-party analytics about visits to your website (page views and clicks on contact buttons), so you can see how your site is performing.

Why we collect it

We use your information to design and build your website, host it, respond to update requests, take payment for the hosting plan, and contact you about your account. Where we rely on your consent (for example, showing your uploaded photos on your site), you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us. Otherwise we process your data because it's necessary to provide the service you've asked for, or because we have a legitimate business interest in running and improving Believe Websites.

How your website gets built and updated

We use AI-assisted tools, provided by trusted technology partners, to help draft your website's design and content from the information you give us, and to help carry out change requests you send us later. A member of our team always reviews what's produced before it's shown to you or published live — nothing goes live automatically.

Who we share your data with

We share data with a small number of trusted service providers who help us run Believe Websites, and only for that purpose:

  • Supabase — hosts our database, file storage and login system.
  • Stripe — handles payment processing for the hosting subscription.
  • Anthropic — provides the AI technology used to help draft and update website content.
  • Resend — sends transactional emails (like receipts and update notifications) on our behalf.
  • Vercel — hosts the website and application infrastructure.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone, ever.

How long we keep your data

If you complete our questionnaire but don't become a customer, we keep your details for a reasonable period in case you want to pick up where you left off, and delete them if you ask us to. If you become a customer, we keep your data for as long as your account is active, plus a period afterwards to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Raw analytics events are kept for a short period (around 90 days) before being summarised into aggregate statistics and deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to stop using it for a particular purpose. To do this, or if you have any concerns about how we handle your data, message us on WhatsApp or contact simon@believex.co. If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your language preference. We use first-party analytics (not third-party advertising trackers) to understand how visitors use our customers' websites, so we can show you useful statistics about your own site.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your data, including encryption in transit and restricted access to production systems. No method of storing or transmitting data is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Children

Believe Websites is a service for business owners and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll let existing customers know.
